I've heard that TJC2019 is only for Blacks and POC, is that true?

TJC2019 is for everyone with an interest in the BDSM, Fetish or Leather Lifestyle. It is open to all genders and lifestyles regardless of sexual orientation. Some people have mistakenly assumed that TJC2019 is for Blacks and POC only because TJC2019 is currently the only 4-day event that focuses on the black kink experience.

Can I attend TJC2019 if I am under 21?

You must be 19 or older by August 8, 2019 with a valid government issue ID to attend TJC2019. You will be asked to show it at the TJC2019 Registration Desk when you check in.

Do I need to show ID? I am very private and do not want to be 'outed'?

Yes, you are required to show a valid photo ID at the TJC2019 Registration Booth when you check in. This is to verify the name you put on the waiver is your correct legal name. We do not store or save your personal information after the event and your identity is safe.
+

Does my TJC2019 badge name have to match my legal name?

No, many people have a “scene” name that they are known by and prefer to have that as their badge name. You can have whatever name you prefer on your badge as long as your badge name is not used to intentionally impersonate another person, or the name is one that is considered offensive.
+

Do I need to pre-register or can I come to the event and register there?

You must register to attend TJC2019 by the Registration Deadline Date of May 31, 2019. You will not be able to register after the Registration Deadline.

I'd like to wait to get my hotel room until I arrive at TJC2019, can I still get the TJC2019 rate at check in?

Probably not. The hotel only guarantees the rate through a specific date, usually about three (3) weeks prior to the event, After that date, it is the hotel’s option to honor the special rate or charge the prevailing rate, which could be substantially higher. We recommend that you reserve your room ahead of time. Also there's no deposit required to reserve your room.
+

Is there an advantage to getting my room reserved in the TJC2019 host hotel?

Actually, yes there is. For one thing, by booking inside the host hotel, you will be among other TJC2019 attendees, and you'll avoid the cost to commute between the host hotel and somewhere else. Also, staying at the host hotel, helps us keep our costs down and if we reach our block goal, we'll refund $75.00 to all the attendees who were registered to a room.

Absolutely. There is no official “Dress Code” and the only restrictions in the play space area is that there is no full nudity.
